Author of a good season in the Bundesliga, Xavi Simons should return on loan to PSG at the end of the season. But the RB Leipzig coach doesn’t necessarily see it that way.
Last summer, Xavi Simons was loaned by Paris Saint-Germain to RB Leipzig, without a purchase option. In 48 matches played with the German club, in all competitions, the Dutch winger has scored nine goals and provided thirteen assists.
Rather satisfactory statistics which make his coach want to keep him in his squad. “Xavi gives the impression that he feels comfortable here, that he is developing well and that it is a good environment for him overall. That’s why I’m still very confident about seeing him with us next year. He will also be a very important factor for me next year”confided Marco Rose during an interview withSkySports.
Xavi Simons pleases Luis Enrique
The Dutch international had also expressed his intention to stay in the Bundesliga for the long term. “I already feel at home. I enjoy my time here, I enjoy playing here. I want to succeed and leave my mark on the club. In football, you can’t predict anything.”he declared last September, a few days before a shock against Bayern Munich.
It remains to be seen the position of PSG in this matter. Luis Enrique really likes Xavi Simons. “He’s a player who belongs to the club, he’s on loan and he’s excellent. He has the perfect qualities for what we want. It could obviously be a very interesting option for us but it depends on the clubs”explained the Spanish technician on Twitch in March.
