Ivory Coast wants to host the Champions Trophy!

It’s a headache every year for the LFP. The French football body, in an effort to promote Ligue 1, now likes to organize the Champions trophy abroad. Several editions have notably taken place in Morocco, Canada, China and more recently in Israel. This year, the meeting between PSG and TFC was to be held in Thailand in August. But the local organizers went bankrupt, embarrassing the LFP which had to postpone the match until at least January at the Parc des Princes.

This season, while waiting for the outcome in the Coupe de France and Ligue 1 (PSG seems on course to compete once again, for the 12th in a row, in the TDC), the LFP is already working on the organization of the event. And one country is eager to host this meeting. According to information from the NCI, the Ivorian national channel, Côte d’Ivoire is officially a candidate. If this candidacy is accepted by the LFP, the match will be played in Abidjan at the Alassane Ouattara stadium in Ebimpe which recently saw the Elephants win the CAN.
