Xavi Hernandez has changed his mind! While he was due to leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season, the Catalan coach finally decided to stay on the Barça bench for one more season.
The former midfielder was convinced by his president Joan Laporta. This Thursday, at a press conference, the Blaugrana legend explained the reasons for his choice but above all mentioned the double confrontation in the quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
For him, his team deserved better and was above that of Luis Enrique. “ Tactically, we were better than PSG, both on the outward and return legs. After Ronald (Araujo) was sent off, we should have competed more. But that’s part of the process. We, the staff and the players, have learned a lot. Next season we will be better able to compete,” did he declare.
Secure second place
