Looking for a left back to replace Alphonso Davies, Bayern Munich is exploring a new avenue. His Canadian defender has been in talks with Real Madrid for several months, and it is precisely in Spain, within the Madrid club, that the Bavarians could have found his replacement. According to The Team, Bayern Munich is interested in Ferland Mendy (28 years old), the French left defender who is having a full season as a starter with the Merengues. A beautiful campaign which therefore attracted the attention of the Germans.

The German daily Bild adds, however, that the Bavarians would prefer a straight transfer for the two players rather than an exchange. Although Alphonso Davies and Ferland Mendy’s contracts both expire in June 2025, their value in the transfer market is different. According to the German site Transfermarkt, the market value of the Frenchman is estimated at 20 million euros, while that of the Canadian, five years younger, amounts to 60 million euros. While negotiations have not yet started, Ferland Mendy and Alphonso Davies will already face each other next week in the Champions League. A final clash before a possible exchange of clubs?
