Followed by PSG, Frenkie de Jong is for sale and Barça has set its price.
FC Barcelona have some important decisions to make this summer, and while Ronald Araujo seems to be the player most clearly prepared to be the sacrificial outlet, there are still rumors that FC Barcelona could make a third attempt to sell Frenkie from Jong this summer.
According to Sport, sporting director Deco wants to recruit a quality midfielder for the pivot position, which he considers more important than keeping de Jong, and that neither the Dutchman nor any of his colleagues have been in able to achieve at the desired level.
De Jong is worth a fortune
Bayern Munich are said to be interested in him, although they are concerned about his salary, and the Catalan daily claims that Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League clubs are attentive to his situation. Barcelona are reportedly ready to sell de Jong for a fee of €70 million or more. However, even this sale would not be as advantageous as it seems: as things currently stand, FC Barcelona could only use 60% of the sale amount to recruit new players. Delayed salary payments from the Josep Maria Bartomeu era must also be paid to de Jong, which would be deducted from this sum.
Local media say de Jong was no longer categorically ruling out leaving, but wanted to stay. As was the case in previous summers, unless the Dutchman can be convinced to leave, the debate over what to do with the money is null and void.
