At the head of a racing horse stable since 2017, Antoine Griezmann can rejoice in a very first victory at the Paris-Vincennes Hippodrome on Tuesday.

New title on Antoine Griezmann’s record: one of his horses won for the very first time in the “Temple du trot”, at the Paris-Vincennes Hippodrome, on Tuesday. Joao de Vandel dominated race number 2 of the Prix de Jonzac. Jockey Eric Raffin took the opportunity to offer his 100th race of the year.

After just one victory in 2023, Joao de Vandel won in Cagnes-sur-Mer on February 20, with Mathis Laffay in the saddle. “Grizi” purchased this double winner of the Prix d’Amérique in September 2020, for 110,000 euros. The 2018 world champion spent 307,000 euros on four new trotters during a sales session in Deauville.

An “outcome” for the team

Mickaël Cormy, Joao de Vandel’s trainer, confides his joy to the site The Trot: “It’s an achievement when we know Antoine’s ambitions, he’s a competitor, a winner. We start with the provinces because we have to shape them but winning in Paris is even better! »

Passionate about horse racing since childhood (his father took him to the races), Antoine Griezmann became an owner in 2017. Five years later, the Griezmann stable has no fewer than 18 horses. In 2024, for example, Hooking has won eleven times in 40 races and Judicious Winner eight times in 20 races.
