Continuation of the 32nd day of La Liga this Sunday evening. The Alavés club hosted Atlético de Madrid, on their lawn at the Mendizorroza Stadium. Despite the domination of the Colchoneros, it was the Babazorros who left with the victory (2-0). Everything quickly came to a head in the match with Carlos Benavídez (15th) opening the score. Luis Garcia Plaza’s men almost doubled the lead before the break on a penalty but the VAR reversed the referee’s decision (45th + 2). They managed to do it at the very end of the match, through Rioja (90+2nd), with a sublime volley.

In the ranking, Alavés remains in a good position in its mission to maintain within this Spanish championship with this 13th place, while Atlético de Madrid is still in the race for Europe with this 4th position. Next weekend, the Babazorros will host Celta de Vigo, while the Colchoneros will play at home against Athletic Bilbao, during the 33rd Spanish matchday.
