Premier League: Chelsea pulverizes Everton thanks to a huge Cole Palmer

Who can stop it? This is the question that all of England is asking when seeing Cole Palmer’s recent performances with Chelsea. Impressive for his first real season as a starter in the Premier League, the former Manchester City player is impressive and once again produced a high-flying performance this Monday against Everton. Launching the Blues perfectly with a header (1-0, 13th), the slender attacking midfielder scored the double five minutes later following a great collective action which he created. Far from being satisfied, the number 20 of the Blues scored the hat-trick in thirty minutes with a superb long-range lob (3-0, 29th). Drinking the chalice to the dregs, the Toffees, in danger of remaining in the British elite, conceded a fourth goal before the break following a splendid sequence (4-0, 45th).

Still as apathetic during the second act, Sean Dyche’s men did nothing to come back and conceded a new goal from…Cole Palmer (5-0, 64th). His twentieth goal of the season, which allows him to join Erling Haaland at the top of the PL scorers’ rankings, also completes a very nice success for Chelsea. Mauricio Pochettino’s flock even decided to win the first set by scoring a sixth goal thanks to young (20-year-old) defender Alfie Gilchrist (6-0, 90+1). The London team thus continues with an eighth match without defeat in all competitions and is preparing as best as possible for the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City this Saturday. While Chelsea are ninth but are getting closer to the European places, Everton are sixteenth and will quickly have to wake up.
