Since the arrival of Mikel Arteta on the bench, Arsenal have (re)started to dream of a Premier League title. Last season, the Gunners were close to winning the title, but they lost it in the final days to Manchester City, who were ultimately crowned. Thus, the London club, season after season, refines its strategy around Mikel Arteta. The Spanish technician also wants to strengthen his staff with the arrival of a football legend.

As pointed out ESPN Argentina, Gabriel Heinze is one of the former midfielder’s preferred avenues for the position of assistant coach, while current assistants Albert Stuivenberg and Carlos Cuesta are tipped to obtain head coaching positions elsewhere. Heinze played for Manchester United 83 times between 2004 and 2007, and has been free from contract since leaving Newell’s in December 2023.
