While the mayor of San Donato, Francesco Squeri, had validated the project for the construction of the new AC Milan stadium in his municipality, 13 residents filed an official request at the headquarters of the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) of Milan for 'oppose the project according to Calciomercato. The members of the “No Stadium in San Donato Milanese” committee are simply asking for the annulment of the acts adopted by their mayor. The Milan club's new stadium, which must accommodate 70,000 seats, is “harmful” to their territory.

“All the applicants, as well as many other citizens of San Donato Milanese, Milan and San Giuliano Milanese, would be damaged by the carrying out of the works and we felt the duty to present our reasons to the administrative judges, convinced that we could be heard” added Ilaria Battistini, a lawyer supporting the committee. The first hearing at the TAR has been set for June 4, 2024.
