Now a Salernitana player, former Bayern Munich and Olympique Lyonnais Jérôme Boateng (35) is trying to relaunch his career in Italy (5 appearances). If this does not really go as planned, the German central defender also remains in the sights of justice. Already sentenced in 2021 to €1.8M (60 daily packages of 30,000 euros) in fines following beatings, injuries and insults against his ex-partner, Jérôme Boateng will have to go back to court according to Bild.

Indeed, the regional court had annulled the verdict by condemning the player to €1.2 million in fines (120 daily packages of 10,000 euros) which provoked a new appeal from the defense, the prosecutor and the co-plaintiff. The Bavarian Regional Court has scheduled a new hearing to take place on June 14 with 5 further interviews during June and July until the verdict is scheduled for July 19. “When assessing the chances of success of the appeal, it should be remembered that the latest verdict was not overturned because the Senate of the Bavarian Supreme Court declared Mr. Boateng innocent in this case or because the sentence was too harsh, but because the verdict of the Munich regional court simply suffered from serious formal errors. If the Munich Regional Court does not repeat these errors again – which is normal – Mr. Boateng risks being sentenced again.said criminal defense attorney Nicolas Early Caregiver.
