Worries are piling up for Kalvin Philips. The midfielder left Manchester City this winter, never used by Pep Guardiola, to join West Ham on loan. The objective is therefore to find playing time a few months before the Euro for the Englishman, but his performances are below expectations, like his performance on the Newcastle pitch yesterday. Substituted while his team was leading 3-1, Phillips was guilty of a foul leading to Isak's penalty, and was unable to prevent Harvey Barnes' double, for a spectacular victory for the Magpies (4 -3).

If his performance on the field was not up to par, it was his reaction after the match which caught the attention of the supporters. As he returned to the Hammes bus, the 28-year-old was the target of negative comments from fans towards him, with one calling him 'useless'. This message did not please Phillips, who gave him the middle finger, as the tabloid points out The Sun. Not enough to help matters for the English midfielder…
