Xavi, the Barça coach, has a very specific plan to upset PSG in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

On April 10, FC Barcelona will host PSG for the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League. Even if they are showing good momentum at the moment, the Blaugrana are not at all favorites for this meeting. That said, Xavi, their coach, is anything but resigned.

The Catalan coach firmly believes in an exploit against the French champions. And he would even already have his battle plan for this confrontation.

Xavi will change his mind

According to the daily Sport, Xavi plans to change his team's tactical approach. The club's DNA will be put aside in order to adapt to the opponent. The idea is to play in a more vertical manner in order to surprise the Parisians. Even if it means throwing long balls forward into spaces.

Will this pragmatism pay off? Nothing is less sure. The certainty, on the other hand, is that if things go wrong he risks facing very strong criticism, for having abandoned what characterizes Barcelona and constitutes its essence. But, if it turns out, it's just a bluff to sow doubt in the minds of Parisians.

As a reminder, the last confrontation between Barcelona and PSG turned to the advantage of the Parisians. That said, the results of the oppositions between the two clubs in C1 remain favorable to the Spanish giant.
