When it comes to speaking out about the situation in Rennes, Arthur Theate is often a privileged interlocutor. Captain of the Breton defense, the Belgian has been at the club for two seasons and has quickly become a vocal leader in the Rennes locker room. Against PSG last month, Arthur Theate started in the draw at the Parc des Princes (1-1). Opening the scoring thanks to Amine Gouiri, SRFC was held in check in the final moments of the match with a penalty converted by Gonçalo Ramos. An arbitration decision which was hotly contested on the Brittany side.

Asked by RMC on this fact of play, Arthur Theate admitted that this episode had not been fully digested: “This is not a criticism, but we are still taking away two points at the Parc des Princes. Don't lie, the referee whistles a penalty, but for me, there is clearly no penalty. Afterwards, I will always preach for my parish.» This is not the first time this season that a player has shown his dissatisfaction with divisive refereeing decisions.
