Salaries: The typical team of overpaid Ligue 1 players

Like Layvin Kurzawa, who receives 500,000 euros gross per month at PSG without playing, several Ligue 1 players absolutely do not deserve their salary.

Like every year, the newspaper The Team published its file on Ligue 1 salaries on Thursday. And, unsurprisingly, PSG monopolizes the first places. The ten highest paid players in the elite actually all play for Paris Saint-Germain. Starting of course with Kylian Mbappé, who peaks at 6 million euros gross per month.

A colossal remuneration but worthy of what the French striker, top scorer in the championship – by far -, brings sportingly to the capital club. For others, on the other hand, their remuneration is completely out of step with their performance in the field. And it’s not just in the Ile-de-France locker room that we find them…

Kurzawa, loft builder at a high price

If the salaries of Milan Skriniar (€1.1 million), Nordi Mukiele (€700 thousand), Keylor Navas (€572.6 thousand), Layvin Kurzawa (€500 thousand) and Carlos Soler (€400 thousand) are excessive by in relation to their performances, OL is also a club which overpays its players. Nemanja Matic (€500 thousand), Corentin Tolisso (€400 thousand) and Dejan Lovren (€400 thousand) are thus very well off.

At OM, Joaquin Correa (€450,000) is certainly not the one who earns the most, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reigning with his monthly gross of 650,000 euros, but he is surely the club's biggest mistake. Even if he has regained a little efficiency in recent weeks, Ismaïla Sarr (€390,000) can also consider himself lucky.

Other Ligue 1 teams have made big mistakes by signing certain contracts, such as Monaco with Thilo Kehrer (€290 thousand), Lille with Samuel Umtiti (€150 thousand), Nantes with Moussa Sissoko (€310 thousand) or Lorient with his two French internationals, Tiémoué Bakayoko (€120 thousand) and Benjamin Mendy (€120 thousand).

An eleven at more than €5 million per month!
