Thibaut Courtois is experiencing a nightmare story with his new injury.

During Tuesday's training session with Real Madrid, he suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee – the knee opposite where he tore his anterior cruciate ligament – which is expected to prevent him from playing for almost two months, which means his season is over without a single match having been played.

Courtois injured his anterior cruciate ligament in August, days before the start of the La Liga season. He underwent successful surgery shortly after, and was in the final stages of his recovery before this new blow.

Another hard blow

As reported by The Athletic, Courtois will undergo his second knee surgery of the season in the next 24 hours. Fortunately, due to the nature of the injury, it will be more minor and less invasive than the one in August.

Courtois' focus will be on getting back into shape as soon as possible once the operation is completed. He will try to rejoin the Real Madrid team next season, even if it is not certain that he will be an indisputable starter, as Andriy Lunin has shown himself to be impressive.
