Mattéo Guendouzi and Igor Tudor will meet again at Lazio Rome after their collaboration in Marseille.
From one sky blue and white jersey to another, there is only one step. The Alps, more precisely, if we follow the respective trajectories of Mattéo Guendouzi and Igor Tudor.
Last summer, the French world vice-champion, recalled this week by Didier Deschamps for the French team rally, chose to leave Olympique de Marseille to join Lazio Rome. Having become an indisputable starter with the Biancocelesti, the midfielder will find a certain Igor Tudor there…
Good surprise for Guendouzi?
At first glance, Tudor's induction does not look like good news for Guendouzi. The two men maintained fairly cool relations in Marseille. The Croatian lugged the midfielder around in several positions for a long time, before downgrading him in the team's hierarchy.
But against all odds, Tudor seems rather enthusiastic about the idea of finding his former player. “ I haven't seen Mattéo yet, but he's a winner, he has this extraordinary mentality that we need in a club like this, especially in a city like Rome which is very demanding“, he blurted. This bodes well for Lazio, who will need all their strength to finish the season well.
