Once expected to stay at Manchester United, Erik ten Hag is clearly on his way out. Still fighting to secure a place in the Champions League, the Dutch coach no longer seems to be in INEOS' plans. According to the Mirror, the Mancunians have even already found his successor in the person of Gareth Southgate. The current England coach, in full preparation for the Euro in Germany, is close to the INEOS clan. The new sporting director of Manchester United Dan Ashworth greatly appreciates the English coach with whom he communicates regularly. Gareth Southgate is most closely linked to Sir Dave Brailsford, the former head of cycling at INEOS. The two men are part of the same very closed circle which regularly discusses sports news.

New shareholder Jim Ratcliffe sees Gareth Southgate as an opportunity to focus on local talent and develop the training center. The English coach cast doubt on his future last week. However, with the possibility of extending his contract with the Three Lions until the 2024 World Cup, Gareth Southgate prefers to wait for the outcome of the Euro to decide on his future.
