Aymeric Laporte discusses his departure from Manchester City and his relationship with Pep Guardiola.
Aymeric Laporte, who arrived at Al-Nasser last summer from Manchester City, gave a turning point to his career by opting for the new Eldorado of football.
Currently selected for La Roja's matches against Colombia on March 22 and against Brazil on March 26, the Spanish defender spoke with RadioMarca.
Guardiola is not laughing
Laporte reflected on his departure from the Mancunian club, evoking contrasting memories of his stay with the Skyblues, in particular his relationship with coach Pep Guardiola.
“Guardiola often says 'if anyone doesn't want to be here, say so…and good luck'. That's what he usually says. For many players, it wasn't like that, but I'm not going to dwell on that sort of thing. I decided to leave and I was able to leave. That’s all there is to say”confided the Agenais.
