Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has been the subject of particular attention in Bavaria and Madrid in recent weeks.

After learning that Davies had reached a verbal agreement with Los Blancos to join the Whites, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said the club would begin contract negotiations with the 22-year-old. However, it appears that these negotiations were unsuccessful.

According to Diario AS, Bayern offered him 13-14 million euros per year to sign a new contract, but this offer did not meet their demands of 20 million euros per season. Bayern are not ready to go any further and so Davies has decided to play for Real. Knowing that Bayern will not go any higher, he put the ball in Bayern's court. The latter knows he will either have to lose him for free next summer or negotiate a price for Davies with Madrid this summer.

Real relies on its strategy

This has been Real's strategy from the start, and it seems that negotiations between the two clubs are the only thing standing in the way of a transfer now. Bayern director of football Christoph Freund has made it clear that the club does not want to lose players for free.

Bayern have shown in the past that they negotiate hard, but it appears that all three parties have an interest in finding an agreement. As for the salary structure, Davies is unlikely to earn what he could have earned with Bayern. The top of Real Madrid's salary structure is currently occupied by Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, who reportedly earn between €10 million and €12 million per season.
