Italian star accused of racism, investigation opened

Inter Milan's Italian international Francesco Acerbi is accused of making racist insults towards Napoli player Juan Jesus during Sunday's match.

Following a report from the referee, the Italian Football League opened an investigation into Francesco Acerbi.

The Italian central defender is suspected of having made racist remarks towards Juan Jesus during the match between Inter Milan and Naples (1-1) last Sunday.

The sports judge wants to clarify the facts

The League press release states: After having read the arbitration report, the sports judge considers it necessary for the Federation prosecutor to investigate in order to determine what happened between the Naples player, Juan Jesus, and the Inter Milan player, Francesco Acerbi , concerning possible expressions of racial discrimination made by the latter (Sunday). »

The investigation will determine whether Acerbi actually uttered racist insults. If the accusations are proven, he risks heavy sanctions, including a suspension of several matches.
