The sports consultant and the former Manchester United legend hardly like each other. Their last meeting even almost degenerated.

During his career as a sports journalist, which notably saw him work for the newspaper The Team and television shows (“100% Foot” on M6 and “Canal Football Club”), Pierre Ménès had the opportunity to criticize numerous players. Among these is Eric Cantona.

The former striker would not have appreciated at all the comments made by the former sidekick of Hervé Mathoux. “I have a very bad relationship with him. The last time we met in a restaurant, he practically threatened to put his hand in my face. It’s true that I had to scratch it two, three times in shows”recognized Pierre Ménès in a video published on his YouTube channel where he answers questions from his subscribers.

Cantona, “a bullshit factory”

The polemicist considers that the “King” is not really competent to talk about football news. “All Cantona that he is, and despite all the respect I have for his career at Manchester United, he is still a bullshit factory when he talks about football. Every time he opens it, I find what he says heartbreaking. I had to say it, he must not have liked it. On the other hand, I think he's a very good actor.”he ended up ironically.

Eric Cantona did not wait to end his football career to begin his career as a film actor. In 1995, he landed a role in the film “Happiness is in the Meadow” by Étienne Chatiliez, alongside Michel Serrault and Eddy Mitchell.
