Huge thunderclap in sight at Barça?

The possibility of seeing Xavi ultimately stay on the FC Barcelona bench next season can clearly no longer be ruled out.

Coming out of FC Barcelona's heavy defeat against Villarreal (3-5) on January 27 in La Liga, Xavi Hernandez declared that he would leave his position at the end of the season. Since this announcement, the Blaugrana have not lost in the league and have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

And while Barça has regained color at the best moment of the season, a turnaround regarding Xavi's future can clearly no longer be ruled out. The more time passes, the more the possibility of seeing the former Spanish international remaining on the Camp Nou bench next season grows on the other side of the Pyrenees.

“If something changes, we will talk about it”

On the sidelines of the resounding victory of FC Barcelona on the pitch of Atlético Madrid (0-3), this Sunday evening in La Liga, Deco suggested that the maintenance of Xavi could not be ruled out. The Portuguese leader left the door open.

“We said from the start that he had renewed his contract for two seasons. There is no discussion. He has already explained the situation. If something changes, we will talk about it, but now is not the time.”confided the sporting director of the Blaugrana to the microphone of DAZN.
