Theo Hernandez could become the most expensive defender in history this summer.

Arriving at AC Milan in 2019, Theo Hernandez has become one of the best left-backs on the planet in Lombardy. So much so that it arouses the interest of the biggest groups on the Old Continent. However, to secure the services of the French international during the next summer transfer window you will have to take out the checkbook.

According to information disclosed this Monday morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri would not be closed to a transfer of their captain this summer. But not under any conditions. The Milanese leaders would have set the starting price of their French side at 100 million euros, minimum. An amount that only a small handful of clubs can afford to pay.

Bayern is warned

If he were to leave Milan for 100 million euros, Theo Hernandez would become the most expensive defender in history. Currently, it is the young Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol who holds the record, he who moved last summer from RB Leipzig to Manchester City for 90 million euros. He is ahead of Harry Maguire (€87 million) and Matthijs de Ligt (€85.50 million).

Under contract until June 2026 with AC Milan, the brother of Lucas Hernandez would be in particular in the sights of Bayern Munich. Bavarian decision-makers would target the Frenchman in the event of the departure of Alphonso Davies, insistently announced by Real Madrid. Therefore, the reigning German champions now know what to expect if they want to secure the services of the native of Marseille for next season.
