OGC Nice takes on Racing Club de Lens in the shock of the 26th day of Ligue 1. This Saturday evening, the Aiglons tamed the Sang et Or with a score of 3 goals to 1. A success that feels good to Francesco Farioli’s band.

Thanks to this victory, OGC Nice puts an end to its negative spiral in the championship and returns to the path to three points after 6 consecutive matches without a victory. Dante’s partners provisionally take 4th place with 43 points on the clock.

On the other hand, it’s a small setback for the Lensois. The Sang et Or had two important victories against Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Brestois. This setback places them in 6th position.

Clinical and merciless people of Nice

In a series of 6 consecutive matches without a victory in all competitions, the Aiglons approached this meeting in doubt but with a lot of determination, like Dante who brought his partners together before the start of the game.

Words which undoubtedly had some positive effects on his teammates. From the start of the game, Farioli’s men will throw a cold spell on the Bollaert stadium. Mohamed-Ali Cho takes advantage of an error from a hesitant Facundo Medina and goes to challenge Brice Samba but prefers to shift Terem Moffi into the area who just has to push the ball into the back of the net (1-0 ,11th).

Despite the intensity and aggressiveness, the Lensois sinned in the last gesture and did not break the Nice barrier in this first act.

OGC Nice drives the point home!

Returning from the locker room, RC Lens leaves with the same intentions and with a strong determination to come back to the score. A few minutes before the hour mark, Elye Wahi thought he could equalize but his goal was refused due to offside. The French international hopeful had adjusted Marcin Bulka (52nd) with the flat of his right foot.

The turning point of the game? It’s possible, since a few seconds later, Nice makes the break. Farioli’s men once again took advantage of an error by the Lens defense. An attentive Cho intercepts a pass from Nampalys Mendy before finding Khéphren Thuram in the area who opens his right foot which he propels into the back of the net (2-0.53).

On its momentum, Nice drives home the point with a penalty. Terem Moffi takes charge and wrong-foots Brice Samba who can do nothing (3-0, 67th). The Nigerian striker now brings his total to 9 goals in Ligue 1.

The crazy end to the match and the magnificent goal from Elye Wahi (3-1, 76th) did not change the fate of the match. Lens stalls and Nice passes its opponent but recovers especially after a delicate period.
