It is this Friday, from 12 p.m., that the draws for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the Europa League and the Europa Conference League will be made. Three French clubs, PSG, OM and LOSC, are concerned.
Barça for PSG!
It was John Obi Mikel, former Chelsea player, who made the draw for the quarter-finals of the Champions League. A rather lenient draw for PSG, which inherited FC Barcelona, currently third in La Liga. Not the toughest opponent on the board.
The quarter-finals
Arsenal – Bayern Munich
Atlético Madrid – Dortmund
Real Madrid – Manchester City
PSG – FC Barcelona
(go April 9-10, return April 16-17)
But Kylian Mbappé’s teammates having been drawn first, they will have to play the first leg at the Parc des Princes and the return to Catalonia. In the event of qualification, the Parisians will face the winner of the poster between Atlético Madrid and Dortmund.
The semi-finals
Atlético Madrid or Dortmund – PSG or FC Barcelona
Arsenal or Bayern Munich – Real Madrid or Manchester City
(outbound April 30-May 1, return May 7-8)
Here too, this possible semi-final is not the worst for the Rouge et Bleu, who are guaranteed to avoid Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal and Bayern Munich until the final. A hypothetical final that the French champions would play “at home”.
The final
Atlético Madrid or Dortmund or PSG or FC Barcelona – Arsenal or Bayern Munich or Real Madrid or Manchester City
(June 1 in London)
How to follow the draw for the quarter-finals in streaming?
It is this Friday, at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, that the three French clubs still competing on the European scene will be determined. Which opponent will PSG inherit in the Champions League, OM in the Europa League and Lille in the Europa Conference League? The answer will come from 12 p.m., with the draw for the quarter-finals of C1, then those of C3 at 1 p.m. and C4 at 2 p.m.
Please note that for each competition, the draw will be complete. The table until the final will therefore be known, which will allow clubs to project themselves on their potential opponents in the semi-finals. The three draws will be streamed on the UEFA website. Canal+, RMC Sport, beIN Sports and La Chaine L’Equipe will also cover the event live.
Which opponent for PSG?
Obviously, all eyes will be on the flagship competition, the Champions League, and in particular on Paris Saint-Germain. The seven potential opponents for the Rouge et Bleu are Arsenal, Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Manchester City and Real Madrid. So many beautiful people, Borussia being a priori the most desirable team.
Heavy for OM?
For Olympique de Marseille, in the Europa League, the draw could also be very complicated. Fallers of Villarreal in the round of 16, Jean-Louis Gasset’s players could come across AC Milan, AS Roma, Atalanta, Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Liverpool or West Ham. On paper, the Dea and the Hammers seem the least tough opponents for the Ciel et Blanc.
Lille must avoid Aston Villa
In the Europa Conference League, LOSC has everything it takes to go far, even if the level will get tougher from the quarters onwards. After eliminating Sturm Graz, the Mastiffs can fall on Aston Villa, Club Bruges, Fenerbahçe, Fiorentina, Olympiakos, PAOK Salonika and Viktoria Plzen. For Jonathan David’s teammates, the worst draw would undoubtedly be the Villans.
