A week after their impressive victory at the Vélodrome (4-0), Olympique de Marseille intends to finish the job on the Villarreal pitch.

Olympique de Marseille have rarely approached a European Cup return match in such a comfortable position. Expected on the pitch of the Stade de la Ceramica this Thursday at 6:45 p.m. for the second leg of their round of 16 of the Europa League against Villarreal, OM can indeed build on their 4-0 victory won in the first leg .

The Ciel et Blanc will also be able to count on the great form displayed since the arrival of Jean-Louis Gasset. The Marseille coach should also line up his typical team including his offensive trident formed by Iliman Ndiaye, Ismaïla Sarr and obviously Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

In midfield, Amine Harit, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Jordan Veretout are expected to start while in defense, Chancel Mbemba and Balerdi should be in the central hinge, with Jonathan Clauss and Quentin Merlin in the corridors.

Coquelin should start

Among the absentees, Valentin Rongier, Bilal Nadir, Samuel Gigot and Michael Murillo are injured while Jean Onana, Ulisses Garcia and Pape Gueye are not registered in the Europa League.

At Villarreal, Francis Coquelin should start in midfield and up front. Gonçalo Guedes is expected to start alongside Gerard Moreno.

The probable composition of Villarreal: Reina – Mandi, Bailly, Mosquera, Cuenca – Akhomach, Coquelin, Parejo, Baena – Guedes, Moreno.

The probable composition of OM: Lopez – Clauss, Mbemba, Balerdi, Merlin – Kondogbia, Veretout, Harit – Sarr, Ndiaye, Aubameyang.
