Last week, Paris Saint-Germain were linked with the jewel in Barcelona’s crown, suggesting a bold move for 16-year-old Lamine Yamal.

Although it seems unlikely that the Blaugrana would be willing to enter into negotiations, PSG were on hand to observe the teenager in midweek.

According to Sport, FC Barcelona have confirmed that an accredited member of PSG staff was present in the stands to observe Lamine Yamal against Naples. While Frenkie de Jong is also popular in Paris, and has been suggested as a potential sale this summer, the second player the Parisians came to see was 17-year-old Pau Cubarsi, who walked away with the men’s title Match.

Cubarsi has a contract until 2026, with a release clause estimated at between 10 and 15 million euros, but the Blaugrana have already started negotiations to increase his salary and buyout clause.

Local media maintain that Lamine Yamal is highly valued by PSG, but that president Joan Laporta does not want to listen to offers for the 16-year-old player. His release clause is set at 1 billion euros, even though PSG has been linked to an offer of 200 million euros.
