This Thursday evening, AC Milan will take to the pitch at Slavia Prague to validate their ticket for the quarter-finals of the Europa League. In the first leg, the Rossoneri won with a score of 4 goals to 2 and are therefore in a favorable position to join the next round.

From the 21st minute of play, an event disrupted Stefano Pioli’s game plans. French goalkeeper Mike Maignan had to give way to Marco Sportiello due to an injury.

Although he tried to continue the game and force himself, the French international ultimately couldn’t stand the pain and had no choice but to leave his place in the Milan cage.

Towards a package with the France team?

This sudden injury to Mike Maignan this Thursday in the round of 16 second leg of the Europa League comes at the wrong time. Indeed, a few hours ago Didier Deschamps announced his list of 23 to face Germany and Chile. As expected Mike Maignan is in the group and should in principle play both matches.

However, his injury could reshuffle the cards and push him to withdraw. More details on his injury should come in the coming hours. It is not impossible that the former LOSC player will be replaced by another goalkeeper. To be continued…
