Qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, PSG is far from being a favorite for final victory according to the statistics.

Does PSG have the means to go all the way in the Champions League this season? If we are to believe the management and even the coach of the capital club, the objective is not there for this 2023-2024 financial year. Only the appetite comes with eating, the Parisians will not fail to boldly play their luck for Kylian Mbappé’s last tour at the club.

Opta Analyst looked at the profile of the last eight contenders for the C1 – namely, in addition to Paris, the three Spaniards: Real Madrid, Atlético and Barça, the two English Manchester City and Arsenal, the two Germans Dortmund and Bayern. And given the statistics, PSG is not on the podium of legitimate candidates for the supreme coronation.

City widely favorite

Unsurprisingly, the Cityzens are far ahead of the competition, with almost a third of a chance of winning according to the Opta algorithm, which grants a 32.3% chance of consecration to Pep Guardiola’s Skyblues. Another juggernaut follows, although at a good distance, since Real Madrid is credited with an honorable percentage of 16.87%.

The Top 3 is completed by an unexpected guest: Arsenal, with a 13.09% chance of triumph on June 1 at Wembley. And Paris in all this? Marquinhos’ teammates still received 11.8% of the votes, notably ahead of the ogre Bayern and their 10.75%. The worst off are Borussia Dortmund (5.62%), FC Barcelona (5.38%) and Atlético Madrid (4.19%).
