Since leaving PSG for the Al-Arabi club (Qatar), Marco Verratti has spent more time playing padel than football.

Last September, Marco Verratti left Paris Saint-Germain after spending eleven seasons in the capital of France. The Italian international joined the club from Al-Arabi, in Qatar, for a reported fee of 45 million euros.

Even though he played twelve games in the Qatar Stars League, Daniel Riolo considers that “the little owl” can no longer be considered a professional footballer. “(Marco) Verratti doesn’t have a club. His club is the local padel club. In his Insta photos, he is either at the padel or he is at the restaurant. He stopped playing football. For a 31 year old genius…”declared the sports journalist, Monday evening, on the airwaves of RMC.

Vitinha better than Verratti?

Last Tuesday, after PSG qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Riolo stressed that Verratti was absolutely not missing from the Rouge et Bleu. “In front of the defense, Vitinha does everything well. He has the technique, he brings out the balls, he goes quickly. Those who missed Verratti, I hope you saw Vitinha’s match and his matches since the start of the season. He does everything better”he had estimated.

During his long time at PSG, Marco Verratti set several records. The midfielder notably became the most successful player in the club’s history (30 titles) as well as the most successful player in the history of Ligue 1 (9 titles).
