A great European football coach was suddenly dismissed from his position…

Before a summer marked by a veritable waltz of coaches, European clubs continue to be agitated behind the scenes. This week, the departure of a renowned technician was made official.

After José Mourinho (AS Roma) and the planned endings of Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool), Thomas Tuchel (Bayern Munich) and even Xavi (FC Barcelona), it is Rafael Benitez who closes a chapter in his rich coaching career.

An expected decision

Celta de Vigo formalized the dismissal of the Spanish technician this Tuesday. In an official press release, the Galician club announces this departure “ after eight months of absolute commitment and total dedication, but during which the team did not achieve the expected results“.

Information which follows a series of bad results, including the most recent against Real Madrid, a big setback (0-4). Seventeenth in La Liga, Celta de Vigo is on the brink of the abyss on a sporting level. The experience and tactical precepts of a coach who has worked with Liverpool, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Naples and even Valencia will not have been enough.
