Martin Ødegaard has had an atypical career path. Promoted to Real Madrid at 16, the Norwegian prodigy had a journey strewn with pitfalls.
Despite a promising start, Ødegaard never managed to establish himself at the Merengues, going through loan spells at SC Heerenveen, Vitesse Arnhem and Real Sociedad, before finally finding his way at Arsenal. But far from being discouraged, he showed perseverance and patience.
Ødegaard had no doubts
This Tuesday evening, during the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League against Porto, winner 1-0 in the first leg, Ødegaard will play his 10th match in the most prestigious European competition. A dream come true for the 25-year-old playmaker.
