Absent from the field for almost a month now, Marquinhos is suffering from his Achilles tendon. His return to competition does not appear to be imminent.

Since February 17, Marquinhos has not played a single match with Paris Saint-Germain. That day, during a Ligue 1 match against Nantes, the Brazilian defender injured his calf. A few days after this physical problem, Luis Enrique was reassuring.

“His injury? No it doesn’t matter, I don’t know what we wrote about the medical aspect but it doesn’t matter. He won’t be here tomorrow but that doesn’t matter.”, had then assured the coach of the capital club, at a press conference, before the reception at Stade Rennais. However, the former AS Roma player has still not returned to training.

Burst packages?

The Auriverde international is now suffering from an Achilles tendon and will probably not recover for several weeks. His package for Brazil’s two friendly matches, during the international break against England (March 23) and Spain (March 26), has even already been recorded.

Logically, Marquinhos will not be able to participate in the quarter-final of the Coupe de France between PSG and OGC Nice, Wednesday evening at the Parc des Princes (9:10 p.m.). This Tuesday, at 1 p.m., Luis Enrique will hold a press briefing and should be questioned about the São Paulo native’s summer of form.
