Pep Guardiola will have to do without a major player for the coming weeks.
If Manchester City remains the big favorite of the bookmakers to retain their title of champion of England, Pep Guardiola’s team will have to draw on its resources to have a great end to the season.
The Sky Blues already face intense competition from Arsenal and Liverpool, two opponents who sit ahead of them in the Premier League table. But Manchester City will also have to cope without one of its major players for the coming weeks.
Big problem for Guardiola
According to information from the BBC, Ederson is joining the infirmary for a month. The Brazilian goalkeeper was injured in a spectacular action, in which he collided with Darwin Nuñez, during the clash between Manchester City and Liverpool on Sunday (1-1). Guilty of a foul on the Uruguayan striker, Ederson was sent off on the spot.
A double penalty which will therefore plunge Pep Guardiola into a delicate situation for the coming weeks. The Catalan technician will indeed have to do without his number 1 for major events, such as the FA Cup quarter-final against Newcastle, and the Premier League clash against Arsenal. His understudy, the German, Stefan Ortega, will take his place.
