The Skyblues lost their goalkeeper Ederson to injury, who is expected to be out for around four weeks.
There is damage for Manchester City. Ederson, the Skyblues’ starting goalkeeper, was injured during his team’s draw at Liverpool (1-1) on Sunday afternoon.
The Brazilian international was hit in the leg while mowing down Darwin Nunez, which caused the penalty scored by the Reds. The former Benfica player was to resume the match but he ended up giving way a few minutes later to his understudy, Stefan Ortega.
According to Sky Sports, Ederson is expected to be out for around four weeks. He will miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Newcastle, the international break with Brazil, as well as the clash against Arsenal in the Premier League on March 31. If the timing is respected, he should be able to be put back for the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League in a month.
