Genoa and Monza gave us a very good game with many goals (2-3). The Genoese club was surprised from the start by a much more aggressive visiting team. Monza, comfortable in transition phases, scored initially thanks to a point-blank header from Matteo Pessina (0-1, 8th). Ten minutes later, Dany Mota gave us one of the goals of the year. After another cross from Andrea Colpani, the Portuguese distinguished himself with a splendid acrobatic return (0-2, 18th). In its Luigi-Ferraris stadium, Genoa managed to return to the scoreboard.

Courted by Juventus, Albert Gudmundsson converted a penalty in two stages to reduce the score (1-2, 62nd). Coming into play in place of Kevin Strootman, Vitinha equalized a few minutes later (2-2, 68th) after a solitary raid to score his first goal under his new colors. His Italian story may have started tonight. Despite the equalizer, Monza did not let themselves be defeated. Daniel Maldini, son of the AC Milan legend, gave his team the advantage again (2-3, 80th). With this victory, Monza enters the top 10 of the championship. Genoa remains stuck in 12th place.
