Nice’s defeat in front of Montpellier turned sour on Friday evening at the Allianz-Riviera. Jean-Clair Todibo explains it this Saturday.

A fourth defeat in five days – only one point taken in the meantime – OGC Nice suddenly fell from second to fifth place, and could well slip further. Obviously, the setback recorded Friday at home against Montpellier (1-2) provoked the ire of Riviera supporters. And Jean-Clair Todibo was unable to make himself heard in front of them at the end of the meeting.

It got heated between a supporter and me. Nothing too badsaid the international defender afterwards. I am someone who likes respect. I am a respectful person in life. I do not accept the fact that I am disrespected. »

Dante defends the supporters

In words relayed by Le Parisien this Saturday, Jean-Clair Todibo continues: “ I went to see them (the supporters, editor’s note) because I am a man who accepts his wrongs, as well as his reasons. I went to see them to talk, we did it and there was nothing bad about it. I think there is also a lot of frustration on their side. Which is understandable because they live vicariously and they would like something to come of it. »

And to conclude: “ I told them that dirty laundry is washed in private and not in public in a family. The door to the center is open if they have anything to tell us. » After the match, Dante, the Nice captain, wanted to calm things down: “ Our supporters show their frustration but do not lack respect. I will defend them to the end because I have known them for eight years. »
