A former Real Madrid great has been highly critical of the team’s Brazilian star Vinicius Jr.

Former Real Madrid striker and general manager Pedja Mijatovic has called on Vinicius Jr to change his behavior as soon as possible.

The Serbian criticized Vini Jr after he escaped a red card in the draw against RB Leipzig for a shove on Willi Orban. A slip-up which could have cost his team dearly.

“Vinicius Jr must change his behavior”

He told the Spanish press: “The Real Madrid jersey does not tolerate the behavior of Vini Jr. Maybe that of another team tolerates it, but not Real. I advise him to find a way to calm down, otherwise he will not become a great player.”

The hero of the victorious C1 final in 1998 still recognizes great talent in the Auriverde international. “He’s a different player. He makes the difference. He deserves all the respect. He’s a great player… But everyone tells him he needs to change his behavior.”

The 1998 Ballon d’Or runner-up finished by insisting that Vinicius must absolutely try to evolve. “He has to change a lot of things, he has to change radically. Everything good about football is going to be wasted in another way. If it happens against Real Madrid, we will all say that UEFA, so and so… We have to be objective. This attitude from Vinicius is really frustrating.”
