Big blows for OL

Before OL’s trip to Lorient on Saturday during the 25th day of Ligue 1, Pierre Sage announced two bad news at a press conference.

While remaining on six consecutive victories in all competitions, OL fell back last weekend in Ligue 1 against Lens, at Groupama Stadium (0-3). A heavy defeat that the Lyonnais will try to forget on Saturday afternoon (5 p.m.), on the Lorient pitch, on the occasion of the 25e championship day.

Problem for Les Gones: they risk once again being deprived of their top scorer, Alexandre Lacazette. Already out against the Sang et Or, the French striker did not take part in training this Thursday due to persistent thigh pain. His accuracy against the Merlus is very far from being certain, according to Pierre Sage.

Lacazette and Mangala forfeit?

“Alexandre trained separately, we are in the same situation as last week, but I am going to be less optimistic this time”declared the OL coach at a press conference, before announcing a second piece of bad news: the probable absence of another regular starter, Orel Mangala.

The Belgian midfielder, on loan this winter from Nottingham Forest, is “sick and suffering”, says the Lyon coach. A point with him will be made “by Saturday”. In case of absence, Corentin Tolisso, again “ready to play 90 minutes”, could replace it. Before this trip to Brittany, Lyon is eleventh with 28 points.
