Former France and Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris said he felt like he already knew Los Angeles after playing Grand Theft Auto.

Lloris, who signed with Major League Soccer club LAFC in December 2023, bizarrely claimed that he knew everything about Los Angeles even before moving to the metropolis thanks to Grand Theft Auto, a video game he plays regularly .

The former captain of the French team, winner of the World Cup in 2018, told L’Equipe: “ As for the population, it seems to increase with every move, but I think we’ll stop there. Movies, Dr. Dre, GTA… I played this game on PlayStation so much that I felt like I knew every landmark, every street, and every corner of the city, even though I didn’t never been there”.

The veteran goalkeeper started his team’s first two matches of the 2024 MLS season. LAFC got off to a flying start by beating the Seattle Sounders 2-1, but suffered a 3-0 defeat in their second match against Real Salt Lake, where they had to play in extreme weather conditions.

The 37-year-old will be in action for the Los Angeles team on Sunday in an MLS match against Sporting KC.
