The former French footballer, Olivier Dacourt, is not more than impressed by the talent of Phil Foden.

Phil Foden lit up the Manchester derby with his class on Sunday. In verve, the English prodigy scored two goals, allowing the Sky Blues to turn around a bad situation.

Following this exceptional performance, Foden is entitled to compliments from all sides. However, there are also some who refuse to recognize its unparalleled potential or deliberately ignore it. This is the case, for example, of Olivier Dacourt.

Foden late on Messi

Analyzing the English shock for Canal+, the former French international was not indifferent to the prowess of the young star citizen. “At his age, Messi already had the Ballon d’Or,” he particularly underlined.

Present on the same set, Gaël Clichy, ex Citizen, was much more objective, highlighting Foden’s magnificent progress over several seasons.

Dacourt also saw fit to highlight the few lapses in conduct that Foden had during his professional debut. “They (City leaders) were patient with him because he also had some lapses. And I’m not sure if it had been another player they would have been as lenient with him.”
