While all eyes are on the upcoming arrival of Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid, we almost forget that the Merengues have also got their hands on Endrick, today considered one of the most promising talents of his generation . Only 17 years old, the Brazilian striker was quick to catch the eye of the various European leaders thanks to his scintillating performances in the Palmeiras jersey but the current leader of Liga finally found the right words to double competition. Technical, fast, unstoppable on the first supports, the kid from Taguatinga will thus have the opportunity to confirm all the hopes placed in him under the Madrid tunic. For now and while waiting for the latter to reach the age of majority, the 1m73 left-hander is the delight of Verdao. Finally happiness…

Champion of Brazil with his training club and Brazilian international (2 caps), Endrick has, in fact, experienced a certain slump since the start of the calendar year. Absent during the first seven days of the championship, the man who played in the CONMEBOL pre-Olympic tournament with the Seleção (2 goals and 1 assist in 7 matches) made his return in the Palmeiras jersey. Scorer in the draw (2-2) against Corinthians, the number 9 also remained silent against São Bernardo, Mirassol-SP, Portuguesa but also during the night from Sunday to Monday on the São Paulo pitch (1- 1). More than the current famine experienced by Endrick, it is the management of his case which is of concern.

An astonishing positioning…

During the derby played against Sao Paulo in Morumbi, Abel Ferreira, the Palmeiras coach, decided to field his young striker in a role of… right back. Logically uncomfortable with this new position, the future merengue experienced a very delicate first act. Never found on the edge of the opponent’s area, he was content to defend with more or less success. Trailing at the break, Palmeiras finally took advantage of the tactical adjustment made by Ferreira to return to this match through Raphael Veiga, from the penalty spot. More advanced on the field, Endrick was however unable to get out of the game. In difficulty in the duel, caught by the opposing pressure and often well controlled on his starts, he then only touched 35 balls (15 lost ).

A complicated evening like his recent outings where he was often moved between his center forward and right winger position… One thing is certain, the current dynamic of the Brazilian crack should not fully reassure Real Madrid. For his part, Endrick can always console himself with his new call-up to the national team. Already called up last November by Fernando Diniz, this time he benefited from the confidence of Dorival Junior, new strong man of the Seleção, who decided to include him in his list to play in the next two friendly matches in Brazil, on March 23 at Wembley against England then three later against Spain at the Santiago Bernabéu, the future garden of the person concerned.
