Barça: Xavi is very worried about Frenkie de Jong and Pedri

Dark evening for FC Barcelona. Traveling to the Basque country, Barça aimed to win on the pitch in Bilbao, in great form in recent weeks. Ultimately, nothing went as planned for the Catalan club. Timorous, Jules Koundé’s teammates conceded a goalless draw and almost said goodbye to La Liga following this new disappointment. Worse still, the visitors lost Pedri and Frenkie de Jong. The two players came out displaying crestfallen expressions which do not bode well.

Asked at a press conference about the health of his two players, Xavi also did not want to be reassuring: “Pedri and Jong’s injuries unfortunately don’t look good. This seems serious. Doctors told me that Frenkie and Pedri’s injuries appeared serious. We are sad, because I think they will be gone for a while.» Terrible news for Barça who face Naples in a return leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League which will therefore take place with a decimated midfield.
