The day after his early exit in Monaco, Kylian Mbappé had a discussion with Luis Enrique, his coach.

We must quickly extinguish the fire before it spreads. Friday evening, Kylian Mbappé’s half-time exit was the main highlight of PSG’s trip to Monaco (0-0). It must be said that the Bondynois did nothing to hide: after having quickly showered, the Parisian striker returned to the stands of the Stade Louis-II, to finish the match next to his mother.

This is the second time in a row that Mbappé has been replaced early by Luis Enrique, after his exit on the hour mark during the previous match against Brest. And for a player of his caliber, who wants to play every match, that’s already huge.

After the meeting, while the Mbappé case was the main subject of discussion, the player’s entourage tried to calm things down. And this Saturday, the Parisian number 7 had a conversation with his coach, although he was not very adept individual interviews.

A constructive exchange

According to RMC, Luis Enrique repeated to Mbappé what he said to the media, that he must get PSG used to playing without him, in anticipation of his departure at the end of the season. The Spanish coach would also have told his attacker that he found him different in recent matches, particularly since this match against Brest in the Cup where his ankle had severely turned after a tackle from Brassier.

“The exchange was deemed constructive”, adds RMC, which specifies that Luis Enrique would not intend to proceed in the same way with Mbappé during Champions League matches. But in Ligue 1, therefore, he can afford to “coach” him. »
