Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager, admitted to being over the moon after his team’s miraculous success in Nottingham.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said the victory against Nottingham Forest was deserved despite coming in the dying moments of the match.
Darwin Nunez came on as a substitute to score in the 99th minute and ensure a most valuable success for the Reds. An outcome which obviously made his manager very happy.
“It’s a very special afternoon. The schedule was complicated, the German technician began by recalling. This match was not easy for us. We didn’t have a good rhythm and the boys felt the intensity for the first time. We had difficult times. We didn’t start well. At the last second, the guy who looks like a former Liverpool player thought he was going to score a goal and decide the match.”
Klopp congratulates the decisive passer
Rather than praising the goalscorer, Klopp sought to compliment decisive passer Alexis MacAllister. “The goal was prepared by a man who was the calmest on the whole pitch. I will never forget him. He was calm. He threw the ball. It’s a great assist and a very important goal.”
“If you had told me 12 days ago that we would win all four matches, I would have told you it was impossible. In the current circumstances, winning matches is ridiculous, Klopp continued. We will recharge our batteries until the next match. What the boys have done is truly special. Getting to this number of points was a big struggle. It was never easy”.
