Lionel Messi has been called up by Lionel Scaloni to play Argentina’s next two matches.

Titled world champion, Argentina will return to the field during this international window in March. The Albiceleste will have two friendly matches on the program: against Salvador in Philadelphia (on the 23rd) then against Costa Rica in Los Angeles (on the 27th).

For these two matches, Lionel Scaloni revealed his list of 26 players this Friday. A list in which Lionel Messi obviously appears. The former Parisian Angel Di Maria was also summoned, like the Mancunian Alejandro Garnacho and the Lyonnais Nicolas Tagliafico.

China gives up on Argentina

Initially, China was to host Argentina’s two friendly matches, one in Hangzhou against Nigeria and the other against Ivory Coast in Beijing. But the country of the rising sun finally gave up hosting the world champions, due to the outcry caused by the absence of Lionel Messi for a meeting with Inter Miami in Hong Kong on February 4.

As a reminder, Lionel Messi has just started the MLS season with his Inter Miami franchise. And after two days, La Pulga scored a goal and delivered an assist.
