UEFA once again had a heavy hand against OM, declaring a partial closed session and imposing large fines on the club.

The sanction fell, made public this Thursday to fix the Marseillais in the organization of their round of 16 first leg of the Europa League against Villarreal.

Marcelino’s return to the Vélodrome on March 7 will be without the North turn, hit by a total closure decreed by the European confederation due to the pyrotechnic devices observed during the return play-off against Shakhtar Donetsk last Thursday.

UEFA also accompanied its verdict with multiple fines, for a painful total of 107,500 euros. A delay at kick-off and the use of laser pointers notably motivated these sanctions.
