Franck Ribéry will retrain as a coach and he already knows where he will start in this role.
Two years after hanging up his boots, following a final experience with Salernitana, Franck Ribéry will return to the world of football. The former French international will embrace a coaching career.
It was the newspaper Kicker which revealed this information, specifying that the native of Boulougne-sur-Mer will first work with young people. And it will be on the side of his former club Bayern, the one whose colors he wore for twelve years. Contact between the two parties has never been broken.
Ribéry in the footsteps of Zidane
Ribéry will therefore work at FC Bayern Campus, once he has completed his coaching license. The 2006 world vice-champion is determined to succeed and aim even higher. He wouldn’t mind following in the footsteps of his ex-teammate Zinedine Zidane.
Ribéry is not the first Frenchman to have worked for Bayern to opt for a coaching career. Valérien Ismaël and Willy Sagnol also did it. The latter even had the immense chance to lead the club’s first team during a match. This was following the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti. The experiment ended in a draw.
