Spanish international goalkeeper Sergio Rico is reportedly set to return to Paris Saint-Germain.

Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico, victim of a serious brain aneurysm in May 2023, could soon make his return to Paris Saint-Germain. According to The AthleticRico is in the process of receiving final medical clearance to return to training.

Nine months after his fall from his horse in Andalusia, Rico has made an exemplary recovery and is impatient to get back on the field. “I hope to return by the end of February,” he recently confided to Channel Football Club.

Sergio Rico has already decided for his future

Under contract until June 2024, the former member of Sevilla FC has not hidden his desire to extend his Parisian adventure. “It will be the club’s decision to extend me or not. I hope that’s the case, I’d love to. I really like Paris,” he said.

The return of Sergio Rico would be excellent news for PSG, who currently have Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma as goalkeepers. The Spaniard, who has already played 10 matches with the Parisian club, would return to bring valuable competition to this position.

As the end of the season approaches, the suspense remains over the future of Sergio Rico. One thing is certain, the player is determined to return to competition and prove that he is still capable of performing at the highest level.
